I had nothing as far as expectations for this coffee, and I was pleasantly surprised! Fully flavored, and enjoyable. Bravo!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Maavapai Very nice replacement
I was heart-broken to lose my favorite Antigua. However, this has made a strong impression. I like it just fine and will continue to be a genuine Gevalia coffee snob. I take it traveling with a French press and even make my own at restaurant tables.

1. The first time we made this coffee it was too strong for my taste and had a bitter undertone. Someone who likes strong coffee might not have minded the taste of our 1st try. I was going to give it to a family member who likes strong coffee but decided to try again before writing this review.
2. Today I made a half pot with 2 slightly rounded scoops and it has no bitter taste and has the nice smooth flavor I like with Gevalia coffees. So I can recommend it as Very Good but that is not on the scale above.

Rated 3 out of 5 by ChuckM Guatemia farms had a great growing season. The darker side of this roast covered much of the delicate potential. covered by being roast-centric.
Too bad the roaster was swayed by the "Starbucks" trend to the "dark side!" This season, Guatemala fields have produces great caramel and floral notes if the roast was at a City or City plus (or American) roast. Although still in your medium area as you rated it, the roast was more into the Full City area. I think cut back to roasting it more like your TRADITIONAL offering that you have.
I would love to be privileged to have a cupping, if you try a slightly lighter roast.
True, "beauty is up to the beholder."

Rated 2 out of 5 by Oldguy46 Just not an impressive coffee.
I tried this Guatemala as a possible replacement for the Antigua that is being discontinued. Both are described as being medium roasts but of the two, I find the Guatemala a bit darker and rather tasteless. After trying several pots to give it a fair chance, I feel that this coffee just does not offer much to recommend it as a substitute for the Guatemala Antigua.

Can't compare to Antiqua which was also from Guatemala.
Too bad you no longer offer it and no DeCaf!
