Gevalia

Antigua

Grown high in the misty mountains of Guatemala, this single bean matures slowly, developing a complex sweetness and full-bodied character. Experience the satisfying flavor of Antigua Coffee, which will linger long after this medium roast has been enjoyed. A brew that's as reputable and refined as the lush lands from which it's sourced, this Guatemalan coffee makes a remarkable cup.

Ingredients: 100% Arabica Coffee

This is THE BEST coffee there is I tried this coffee as a Trial Offer, I have been using Gevalia for a Long Time. This IS Coffee!!!! it is the best tasting, aromatic Coffee you have. PLEASE do not discontinue it!!!! April 22, 2014
LOVED IT We are from Guatemala, and this coffee brings my parent memories from their old town, when they used to drink coffee with their parents. Great taste and aroma. April 10, 2014
The BEST!!! (Discontinued or not?) I selected Antigua as my favorite Gevalia coffee over 15 years ago and have bought it ever since. It is the closest climatological approximate to the famed Jamaican Blue Mountain which I used to taste freshly ground and brewed just for me at a local coffee shop. Unfortunately, the last Antigua shipment I received included a sticker on each box noting that it will be discontinued, but that I will find some other variety that I will love just as well; EXTREMELY PRESUMPTUOUS!! In checking the online catalog and reading reviews I can only find that DECAF (yuk!) GROUND (double yuk!!) is being discontinued. What the H is going on? As long as Antigua WHOLE BEAN REGULAR is available, it will remain my number one buy. It is the most well-rounded/best tasting coffee of all. Nothing else has rivaled in my almost 20-year association with GEVALIA coffees. March 28, 2014
Gevalia best coffee This is my favorite coffee so very sorry to see it go away Thank you for recommending breakfast blend it should be Just as good March 14, 2014
One of the best This was one of my favorites - nice smooth blend, great with just a splash of cream. I've ordered it for several years and have had Gevalia coffees for many, many years. Sadly, it's being discontinued, as well as many of my favorites. March 7, 2014
Our favorite This has been our fav since we started drinking Gevalia! Unfortunately the decaf is being discontinued so I'm trying the German chocolate! Hope it taste as good as or better that the Antigua! February 11, 2014
This coffee has a unique, wonderful taste. Unfortunately, I have recently been relegated to limit my coffee intake; however, when I do splurge on a cup of coffee, this is my favorite. I find it unique and flavorful. January 20, 2014
another excellent coffee this is a great coffee we tend to drink at night or late afternoon, it seems to fit in that way, very good. January 8, 2014

Answer:
A few people offered confusing answers to this question, including what looks to be a Gevalia rep. While there is an island called Antigua, this coffee description says that the coffee is grown in the mountains of Guatemala. Antigua is the name of the original Spanish capital city in Guatemala, and it is a popular tourist destination there. Guatemala is in Central America. Coffee from Antigua, Guatemala is delicious. My dad (who went to Antigua) noticed the flavor of my Gevalia coffee instantly and commented on how great it tasted.

The coffee description says, "Grown high in the misty mountains of Guatemala, this single bean matures slowly...". However, under About Antigua at the right-hand side of the page, it says "Antigua is a coffee blend made from Antiguan and Guatemalan beans."

Answer:
We use both methods. The Robustas beans are generally processed by the dry method, whereas the Arabicas bean are processed using either the wet or dry method.
