Rated 5 out of 5 by from easy to use Unfortunately the Tassimo coffee maker I was attempting to clean was beyond repair (over 5 years old and used very hard) - something else was wrong with it and it stopped in the midst of the descaling. Bought a new Tassimo coffee maker so I am set up to descale it when it becomes necessary.

Light still on

My brewer is only 3 months old.I had to descale it using the powder provided in this website. It took me a long time to clean and rinse the tank, but the descale light is still on.I just called customer service and they told me to brew a cup of coffee to check if the unit is still working. The coffee is ok,but I don't think the light should stay on.How am I going to find out when I need to descale it again?Did this problem happen to anyone else??

Had exact same problem until I read the "fine print" on the descaler powder instructions. Make sure you mix descaling powder with correct amount of water. "Dezcal" packets for example call for 32 oz of water, which is much less than one full Tassimo container.

The bar code reader won't read. What can I do to fix it.

All the lights come on when ever I try to make coffee. This unit was bought new and has been stored since purchased two years ago. Making hot water works just fine.

Try gently cleaning the bar code reader with a soft damp cloth then gently dry with a soft cloth. I had the same issue when I first bought my T55. I finagled with it for a bit then I tried the cloth trick. Viola' it worked! Good luck I love mine

this is the first time i am descaling the Tassimo. i put in water to the line and same amount of vinegar. went through the cycle and now i am running the rinse cycle which is taking 20 minutes with both lights flashing. i sense something is wrong. can you help?

Hi David just going through the questions and saw yours We are not supposed to use Vinegar as it's so corrosive to the other parts of the machine.. That's what I've read so far.. only the powder descalers you find at Walmart say in the Coffee brewer Tassimo section.. I will be doing it fairly soon I'm sure as we have hard water in our city.. Best of luck ..

After descaling with solution, the coffee tastes of chemicals??

We think we have done everything correctly but cannot get rid of the taste. Any ideas as to what could have gone wrong? Anyone experienced this?

can you buy similar products in the store like the t discs?

Asked by: dedra
Hello Debra, Descaling products are widely available from retailers selling coffeemakers and espresso machines. Only use a product intended for de-scaling. We do not recommend using vinegar based products or CLR. Thanks for asking.
