My ONLY daily cup of coffee! For years, my daily coffee has been Gevalia French Roast. From the addictive aroma when first opening a fresh package to the aroma as it brews, followed by the smooth, rich taste without a hint of bitterness, even when made strong the way I prefer, it is always the highlight of the day! I always make my "brew" in a 4-cup, cone-shaped drip coffee maker, which concentrates the water over the grounds during brewing, using Gevalia's cone filters. My recipe: 3 cups of filtered water (using the coffee maker's water measure) and 4 level scoops of French Roast, using Gevalia's measuring scoop. The result fills a 20-oz.ceramic cup with brewed perfection, full-bodied and robust, without a hint of bitterness! I keep the cup on a cup warmer and savor the coffee at my leisure. The Best Coffee Out There Recently having bought a French Press, I tried this coffee and was amazed. Nothing I have had can compare to the taste of Gevalia French Roast, and I suspect that fact will stay true, at least for me. May 9, 2013

Great bold flavor without the acid I love a strong cup of coffee but I do not love the acidity that comes with most strong coffees. This coffee gives me the strong bold flavor without the bitterness. All I need is one small packet of sugar and small serving of creamer and its perfect. I like that it is not a flavored coffee so I can add whatever flavored creamer I want and it just absorbs the flavor. It's great anytime of day although I drink it when I first wake up. I love this coffee and I'm glad I decided to try it on a whim while branching out from the flavored coffees that Gevalia offers (which are also great). February 10, 2013

Aroma therapy....... : } Gevalia French Roast early in the morning, in the afternoon and in the evening. It's all I will drink and I've gotten my husband and best friend hooked on it too! (must the Swede in me!) I love my house filled with the aroma of French Roast and the flavor is smooth, not bitter like other dark coffees I've tried over the years. It just tastes GOOD! Unique describes it! I have now gathered up about a dozen boxes of Gevalia kaffe, because I lived in Sweden and developed a taste for Gevalia's roasting. Since then, I've been to Colombia and experienced some of the freshest coffees in the world, which combined makes me a connoisseur of Gevalia's Colombian mark. For variety's sake, I tried this French roast, as I have enjoyed French roast from other companies and love sipping French coffee in France. How could I go wrong? Well, the best way I could describe the flavor is something reminiscent of coal smoke or diesel exhaust. It had a strong chemical flavor. I hope I got a bad batch, as I don't think it's fair to read others' posts prior to submitting mine... But if it is what it is and you've got a taste for kål (coal in Swedish) or bensin (gasoline), then by all means try this! You'll love it! September 26, 2012
