Rated 5 out of 5 by Long term review We've owned the Gevalia coffe maker for, believe it or not, over 8 years now! We use it 2 -3 times a week to brew between 4 - 6 cups each time. The only thing we've had to replace has been the carafe (my fault for cracking it on the edge of the sink). Only recently did the filter basket assembly break (the spring at the bottom broke off). which means that removing the carafe now does not stop the coffee from dripping out, so we have to wait until the brewing is complete before we can take it out (the machine still works fine otherwise). Never had any other problem to date and consistent performance every single time. No issue with the programming features, easy clean up. Everything you want in a coffee maker. October 17, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by I like the features on this Product. This coffeemaker replaced the one that I had been using for over 5 years. It is the same product with a new design. I like the flat bottom on the filter basket. The programming is a little different so I had to read how to program it the first time. I hope you keep making this product because I don't want to use any other coffeemaker. I have two more of the older design at church. When they wear out I will be ordering replacements from you. Rated 5 out of 5 by It works well for years We recently replaced the one we have used for 16 years. It only needed a 2cent axel on the switch that stops the flow when the pot is removed. No such item was available so we bought a new pot. Since then we found the small part, inserted it and the old pot works great. August 30, 2016

Rated 5 out of 5 by Features are good, looks good, smell of the new plastic not good. Hard to get rid of the taste and smell . The smell of the new plastic is not good. I purchased this coffee maker because I had one before and it lasted well. My old pot lasted for about nine years. I really would have as soon had the old pot repaired or repaired it myself. Had I known you were going to put it on sale with in a couple of weeks I would have waited and bought it later. The stainless is not worth the price. Three pieces of thin stain stamped steel isn't worth the price. Sorry I,m not very happy wth the price and smell. Lawrence Brown August 14, 2016

I currently have a Gevalia coffee maker. The problem with it is when the hot water is dispensed, the water flows down the side of the filter and the 34 filter collapses leaving an undrinkable and wasted pot of coffee.

How does the coffee canister close and how does the water dispense to avoid this?

I have that same problem. I tried a Mr. Coffee with a flat filter and same problem. Gevalia coffee seems to be ground so fine that it clogs the filter. We have to cycle the pot on and off to keep it from flooding. I will try the valley in the middle trick. My wife and I like the coffee but she has decided to quit buying it because of this problem.

Answer: 
Use cone filters and if it still gives you trouble, make sure the coffee has a little valley in it when you put it in. Almost as if you are pressing the coffee up the sides a bit, so the water has a semi-guided place to pool and brew coffee.

Answer: 
Sounds like you're pouring in hot water & if so the pot won't brew. Use only cold water when filling the reservoir. If this fixes the problem your coffee will also taste better.

My sister bought the coffee maker not to long ago from someone and when she moved she left it well I went to program it last night and I can not get the time to change let alone program it. The red amd green light will blink for about a min and half. When it's on it sounds like it's trying to brew but nothing comes out. How can I fix this?

Answer: 
When I needed to replace my carafe for my out-dated Gevalia, it was recommended I simply purchase a replacement carafe locally. This I did by measuring the height I would need. I got a Mr. Coffee replacement carafe at Target for less than $20.
