this product just keeps going..
I have had this coffee pot for eight years and it still works like new. Best coffee pot I have ever had. So you know, and take into concideration, I brew two pots a day seven days a week. Great product.

Awesome Maker
I have had mine 7 yrs and it still makes a whole pot just fine. So easy to use and the automatic timer is fabulous. Set it and forget it, wake up and I have a hot pot of coffee. Easy to use and makes any amount perfectly everytime.
I don't understand the comments that people can't pour the water in. Really? Come on it is basic, Its not rocket science.
If you can't pour water in this maker then I can't even imagine what else you have trouble with.

8 years & going strong!
I got this 8 years ago via a mail offer. It matches all my stainless appliances nicely. It's gotten a lot of use and still functions perfectly. I use auto feature a lot. Some of the reviews state that it's hard to pour the water in neatly. I wouldn't say it's "hard", but you do have to slow down for a second and not just dump the water in.

Good coffee...if any
Definitely would go with the Classic compared to this one (which I had until I dropped the carafe on my tile floor).
It's very difficult to pour water into the narrow opening on the top of the unit without spilling. I had mine for about a year and a half when it just quit working. It ran a few drops, then stopped and just sat and sputtered steam. Definitely not a good value, either: I purchased a Cuisinart to replace it for around $60 and it has more features and is easier to use.
If you're buying from Gevalia, don't pick this model.

Is difficult to get the water in
the space provided to pour the water to make the coffee is so small that makes it difficult to do so. The water ends up in the counter or all over the collator...

Doesn't stop dripping
Got the coffee maker free with a coffee purchase. After about 6 months, parts came loose from the filter and it no longer stops when I take the pot out to pour coffee. Minor inconvenience, but geez I really like the stop drip function on the coffee pot. I hate waiting for the coffee to finish brewing because it seems to take forever.
Also, when I pour the water in it gets all over the place. It is not designed very well and needs some tweaking. But, it was free. What can one expect?

Good, with some drawbacks
I really like the coffee maker, my oly drawbacks are that when you open the top lid to place a filter in or to pour in water, any condensation that was on the lid immediately gets all over the counter. An easy fix, but annoying. And everytime my power goes off (or my husband unplugs the coffee maker) my auto-brew settings are gone (as well as the time). There should be a battrery back-up of some sort. This was a wedding gift, and I use it multiple times a day, so I say I am getting great use out of it. Now if only those little glitches were gone....

poor quality glad it was free
The coffee brewer was free with my sign up, however it quit working not long after I got it. I did purchase a different model with a removeable water resevoir/filter. I cannot find replacement water filter to change it out.

I got this unit for 14.99 as an intro.offer
The machine worked proper for 1 yr then the water leaked all over the counter top.It had gotten very hot also prior to leaking.I would not reccomend paying full price.I write this in hopes that the company will reengineer this product and improve the unit.I had to go and purchase Mr.Coffee maker for $40.00 from Walmart.I am prepared to buy a replacement in about a year.I hope maybe the next one could be a Gevalia coffee maker.I have had a 4 cup coffee maker Gevalia unit that I have had for 13yrs without any problems.I dnt use it because it dose'nt have a large enough capacity for all the coffee drinkers in my home now.

New, but doesn't work!
First of all I ordered a new carafe for a Gevalia brewer I already had. That carafe was not the right size for the brewer. As they no longer have that brewer in stock, the only thing I could do was order a new brewer. It's the one shown here. However, I have only had the new one for 6 weeks and already it does not work. Initially, the water did not go through the grounds to the pot. All I got was a lot of steam and maybe a half cup of coffee. I cleaned it to see if something was clogged even though it was essentially new. It worked for a day or so. Now the heating element is evidently broken because the lights go on but nothing happens at all. Don't buy it. You are wasting your money.

Coffee & filters great. Coffee maker not so much!
I have had several of these coffee makers and none of them worked very long. They just quit brewing or get to where they brew only half a pot and quit. The last one I have been using just quit and I have never had anyone suggest that the company will replace even the one I bought the last time I got one. The coffee prices are high and the coffee makers should be given out like they used to be. I will have to say that the coffee is wonderful and the filters work great. But the machines are disappointing to say the least.

Coffee Maker Stopped Pumping
After less than 4 months this coffee maker suddenly stopping pumping water. We like it's appearance but is unlikely it can be repaired. Very disappointed.

Product broken after a month
We purchased this late November 2011 and it was broken by Christmas - took 30 minutes to brew 8 cups and lost a whole cup in the process through steam.
We had previously had another Gevalia brewer for three years and so went with this thinking it would be as good. Nope.

For the price it is only average
The coffee tastes okay the settings are simple - things I would add would be some sort of battery backup for if the power is lost you don't lose all your clock and brew settings and this seriously needs improvement in the heating plate mine is already all rusted over and while it still works is unsightly and hard to clean now. I would recommend it but not at the price that is on here - only as a free gift for signing up for auto ship of Gevalia coffee. thanks.

Great Coffee!
I got this pot FREE when I joined Gevalia about 8 months ago. I have it at work and brew at least 1 pot a day. works as well today as it did the first day. It looks sharp; easy to clean, the pot pours cleanly- NO drips! has an automatic stop so you can pull the pot out for the first cup :-) replace it and it will continue to brew; auto shut off after a couple of hours (no worries about leaving it on!) Programmable! I can set it up before leaving work in the evening, and can come in in the morning and by the time I take off my jacket, and am ready to get to work, there is fresh coffee right on cue! If I neglect to set it up the night before, It only takes about 10-12 minutes for a full pot to brew, anyway... Not sure it's worth the full $100. but I have had a $100 worth of coffee with it! and it's cheaper and better than any Dunkin Donuts mud.

The coffee tastes great
I received a Keurig brewer about a year ago as a gift and tried everything under the sun to get the coffee to taste right and gave up. I returned to this Gevalia brewer and after brewing the first pot I realized just how great this brewer actually is. Yes, the controls are very simple and there are better units on the market but overall, I have had nothing but pleasant experiences with this model. I cannot foresee any reason to not use this model in my house and will continue using it until I wear it out. I've used it on average once a week for the last 8 years and it's still going strong.

coffee maker shuts off in the middle of brewing
i got this coffee maker and it has started 2/3 weeks ago shutting off after about 4 cups then i would have to push the on button that is if it will let me i have a 20 dollar coffee maker from 10 years ago that still works like the first day i bought it i think i should get a replacement

Have had mine for 5 years and love it. It's simple and well made. Makes great coffee and haven't had any issues with it since I've had it.

This product has great features. I am a tea totaller but my friends love the coffee and this machine.
I drink tea but my friends and family love the Gevalia coffee and I love the teas. Both tea, coffee and coffemaker are awesome!

The product quality is first class
I received my Gevalia coffee maker six years ago and it has never given any problems. It has all the great features advertised, is a great looking appliance, makes perfect coffee every time and is the most reliable of any I have ever owned. I have never had one to last more than two years, but my Gevalia at 6 years old, looks as good as the day it came and just keeps on brewing. Thanks Gevelia!

Quality product. Poor design.
This is a well made brewer with adequate brew speed and features but...
My first few pots of coffee were undrinkable due to the plastic smell and taste. It took several dozen pots for this to finally go away completely. When you open the top after brewing, the condensation seems to always run down the underside and drip down the back and behind on the counter. The water tank fill slot is quite narrow and requires a steady hand and patience.

I have been with Gavalia fo the past 5 years and have never had a complaint about there product and the coffee maker is working perfectly since I started using this coffee system.

long life
I have had this coffee maker for 7 years and it still runs great. I love that I can set it up at night and wake up to the great smell of brewing coffee. I highly recommend this for a realiable and beautiful coffee maker!

Bad, bad, bad
My second of these Gevalia coffee pots just died. I joined the coffee club and received this coffeemaker. It lasted about six months and then it just couldn't brew 10 cups of coffee; maybe 4 cups but not 10. Gevalia was very nice and sent me a replacement. That was last February, now this one is doing the same thing. It took me an hour to brew 10 cups. New year, I'm pitching this one out and buying the cheapest pot I can find (just kidding, researching pots first)

Poor longevity
We joined just over a year ago. After about a month the first coffee maker quit working. Gevalia was great about replacing it; however, the new one just quit - about a year after we got it. Needless to say the warranty is expired. We love the coffee maker but it's not worth replacing every year or so... not at $100 a pop. I saw where someone said it was a user problem - getting coffee grounds in the water receptacle... however I know that is not our problem... coffee is carefully measured and not just "splashed" into the filter. Why it's quit we don't know... but the since this is the same thing that happened after our first one... it has to be something in the machine.
As for the coffee... it's great and we loved it!! It's a good way to get different coffees that the local stores don't carry.

EXCELLENT!!
I have had this brewer for almost 3 years and it is still working PERFECT and I use it about everyday. I especially love the clock timer on it. There is truly no greater joy than waking up to you coffee already ready for you. I LOVE this machine and Gevalia coffee. I got it free on a promotion but will definately buy another when/if mine dies...IT is also a beautiful machine I have had tons of compliments on its aestetics.

brewer doesn't last
my 2nd brewer just bit the dust. i informed G when my first one started having problems - cutoff at various times after brewing, cutoff while brewing, etc. they replaced it within a few days. i didn't even ask for a new brewer. the 2nd one worked perfectly until one morning it just wouldn't turn on. SO, i informed G just like i did the first time. response - check your warranty. we'll be glad to sell you another one. i think i can find a similar quality brewer for a lot less than $99.

Great Coffee!

Bad, bad, bad
