Close Your Eyes and Picture an African Safari
This roast is exactly how I would picture an African Safari! I expect my coffee to be dark, bold, and strong. I was a little nervous when I opened the package and saw the beans were lightly roasted. But wow! The aroma hit me like a fresh rain! It promised something different; something I wouldn't normally seek. Once brewed the steam enticed me with the same bouquet the beans promised; A unique aroma that tastes just as promised. This coffee is step away from the ordinary. Take a trip to Africa even if it is only via this fine roast.

perfect cup of coffee
Years ago, when I was college, my mom was on auto-buy for the Columbian coffee. She had dozens of little "sample" packs and she would send me back to school with several tucked in my bag. I was able to try a lot of different coffees, all very good in their own way, but my favorite was the Kenya. It still is. It has a rich taste, isn't in the least bit bitter, and tastes exactly the way I think coffee should taste. I have to drink decaf now, and Gevalia's decaf Kenya is excellent. I hope they start to make it for my Keurig! Hint, hint!

Very good product!!
My husband is the coffee drinker but based on his feedback, this product gets high marks. We've been customers since 2010 and he has tried other varieties and he settled on this one. The aroma is strong and fresh and pleasant as a coffee. I would recommend to anyone looking for a new flavor.

Simply the best
My wife and I agree that Gevalia's Kenya coffee is our all-time favorite. I am sure this is not only due to the source, but also the lengths Gevalia goes to, in keeping it fresh -- and delivering it fresh.
We have yet to find another roaster's offering that comes up to Gevalia's standard! Keep up the great work!

Great taste and aroma
As one who usually prefers a slightly darker roast, I was not expecting this to be as tasty as it was, so I was pleasantly surprised. It is delicious and fills the house with a great aroma. It is not my absolute favorite, but is very well balanced.

Perfect Dark Roast Flavor
It has been nearly impossible to find any Kenyan blends locally, so I have resorted to internet searching. This blend surpassed my expectations and I will definitely be re-ordering in the future!

By far my favorite coffee
I've been on auto delivery on this Coffee for 10+ years now and this is the Coffee that made me start. It is very smooth, no after taste, and has a rich full flavour without being too smoky or bitter.

My Most Favorite Coffee is Kenya
I have tried many kinds of coffee, weak and strong, but I keep coming back to the Kenya. I have a Keurig coffee maker and needless to say, I was given many boxes of coffee with my coffee maker and I have bought many kinds, but I still keep coming back to my Kenya. It is very flavorfull, with no aftertaste and in my opinion, the strength is just perfect. Can't begin to tell you how many boxes of this coffee I've bought over the years, but it has been quite a lot. I use 2 of the Gevalia scoops in my solo reusable coffee container and it gives me a perfect 16 oz mug of coffee.

This coffee has a wonderful winey linger on the tongue
This coffee has been delivered to my home for a few years now, and it is still wonderful. It has a nice fruity, acidic taste. Kind of like an excellent Colombian, but better. I hope it never changes.

Coffee Taste as Good as the Smell!
The first time I ever tasted Kenya Coffee was over 30 years ago ... before I found Gevalia. Kenya renewed my faith that there was such a thing as coffee that tasted as good as it smelled. I always return to Kenya as my favorite coffee. With so many coffee purchase options available now, Gevalia has the best to offer. I am never disappointed with their Kenya coffee. This wonderful coffee is for those of us who like the coffee nuttiness of a medium roast. If you prefer a DARK roast ... I think of this as burned coffee ... this coffee is NOT for you. This coffee is for coffee drinkers who want to taste the real coffee flavor that matches that enticing smell. For me Gevalia Kenya is that coffee!

This product is best of class offerings!
As described with exceptionally consistant quality...it always satisfies! As a customer for more than 15 years I know that I can count on the Kenyan bean (selected by Gevalia) to deliver uncomprimising features (aroma, taste, body) year after year. It's my 'go to' brew for guests as after dinner desert complements as well as my Sunday morning wake-up while perusing my favorite periodicals or favorite book readings!

My favorite Gevalia Coffee
I have tried all of the Gevalia coffees (except for the Blue Mountain, but I live in Miami and am able to get the real thing) and this is my absolute favorite. When I drink this after drinking other coffees, it is like drinking 30 year old cognac after drinking a 20 dollar bottle of wine. I never add cream to this coffee. When I get my shipment, I open it up and let my 5 year old daughter smell it, so she will know what good coffee really is.

This coffee is a wonderful taste at a very affordable price, an everyday coffee.
Smooth, full bodied satisfying.
Agree with previous poster that this variety is underrated.

Go with the MBEYA instead
Not as acidic as advertised, but very bold for a lighter roast!

I had to try it; it sounded so good.
I am now on my second small pot of this coffee. Compared with other darker roasted coffees of the higher priced varieties.... ~$18/lb..... this is weak and rather poor in flavor. I expected to have a more full bodied flavor, adn it just does not deliver. It is okay.... but I would not spend any more money on it, I may as well buy it at my super market. It has little aroma in general, and so little flavor..... disappointed. This all may cure me of coffee yet. $100 in coffee and I may as well have sabved my money for tea. ha ha!

We have tried many and this product out does them all in flavor aroma and unique taste
We love it. We drink it every morning we have been out and there is nothing comparable to this coffee

Of all the coffees I have tried the smoothness of Kenya suits my tast perfectly. There is not aftertaste and no acidic flavor.

Our favorite Gevalia
We love to experiment and try the many different Gevalia varieties, but the Kenya is our all time favorite. It tastes and smells exquisite.

We love it!
Kenya is the only coffee on our auto-delivery for years. Gevalia has others we like but none as smooth as Kenya.

A coffee with everything.
This coffee is a family favorite because it has all of the taste without the bite. I believe your current 2 and a half crowns is underrated. Thus I have rated it myself.

I tried several "Kenya" coffees before, from various vendors, and they usually were very tasteful. This one, big disappointment, it doesn't matter how I made it, it always had a very bitter taste. I even tried to make it a lot weaker than I usually do, to no success. I'm not buying it again.

Consistent Quality - The Taste That Defines Coffee
Few other reviewers have had the chance to study the entire coffee value chain, from grower to retail grocery and barista. Along the way I have met Austrian coffee traders, farmers, and cupped coffees of exceptional quality and variety. Hands down, Kenya AA is the type of coffee that for me, defines coffee.
Gevalia manages to control the sourcing and roasting that gets this great type of coffee to me in whole bean form that is reasonably fresh.
To get a 5 crown - they would have to roast it closer to arrival at my house.
