Nice coffeemaker
It's a great coffeemaker. I am disappointed that Gevalia no longer sells the replacement mugs, especially when they still sell the coffee maker. Any chance those mugs will be available again? Or - which of your mugs do you recommend as a replacement?

Great idea
Love this machine, got it free with a coffee deal that was in the mail. Its perfect since I drink decaf and my husband does not. However he left one of the cups at work and we have not been able to use the machine again.

REPLACEMENT CUPS
The machine is great, but you can not get replacement cups now. When the insulated band come off, you must be creative.

great features
I use this in my office at work and it is perfect. compact and makes me 1 fresh cup at a time and if a client comes in I can offer him a cup made fresh on the spot not something from the lunch room that has been brewing all day.

makes great coffee
I was given this machine as a gift years ago and use it every day. It is convenient and makes a great cup quickly. However, you must VERY careful to check the cup settings before pressing the button! A loss of focus leads to overflow and a really messy cleanup not to mention a waste of time and coffee. My wife,who is not a coffee drinker, has threatened to throw the machine away on numerous occasions because of the mess I made. Only abject begging has kept it in the family.

hot coffee!
I have had two of these, and love it. I moved and left my daughters with my old coffee maker, and bought what I thought would be the same coffee maker since they looked alike. Not. The coffee in the new coffee maker isn't nearly as hot. I love the Gevalia one.

poor design
i cant tell you how many times , we have had to clean up the counter from the over flowing cup, when another household member switches brewer to brew one cup at night , and you fill up well for two cups ,and neglect to check setting . filter waster 1 filter for one cup wheres the reusable mesh filter

Great Idea
Have had mine for about four years. It is wonderful when I want to have a flavored coffee or a decafe and husband does not. The versatility of Basic Coffee for Two is a real luxury.
I have found it hard to put the cover on the travel mug after it is brewed. It fills the mug up to the brim and when trying to get the lid on I end up with hot coffee on my hands. I am very careful to measure the water and not put too much in so I don't think that is the reason. I have to remove some of the coffee before putting on the lid. If it were not for this problem I would have given it five star rating.

Makes great coffee, but doesn't last
I love the convience of this brewer, and quality of the resulting coffee, but the coffee maker doesn't last but a couple years. I have had three of them that I used to brew one mug at a time. I do about three mugs per day. After about a year there must be a gasket on the 1-2 mug switch that goes bad because I would only get about a half mug of coffee and half the water would go to the unused side for the second mug. I would have to place a mug on that side as well to catch the water. If I forgot to empty the spare mug, I would have water running onto the counter top. Shortly thereafter, two of the brewers developed electical shorts. Gevalia replaced the original defective brewer, I had to buy the last replacement. After it went bad I bought a single mug Cuisinart brewer instead. I don't think the coffee tastes as good, but at least it seems to be lasting longer.

Excellent for daily use or company
My husband loves this for his one cup a day. He sets it up to brew and grabs it on his way out the door. When we have company come, it works wonderful. We can brew a fresh cup for them whenever they want one. No more stale, cold coffee or moldy filters that we forget about. I would love to find a reuseable filter that fits this coffee pot. Also, we loved the Gevalia white ceramic mugs that we received as a bonus item with this set. I would highly recommend purchasing them. We use them more than the travel mugs. We prefer to use our own reusuable travel mugs vs. the mugs that came with this set.

Love the concept, hate the quality
I have had two of these coffee makers and Gevalia was kind enough to replace it for nothing, but the exact same thing keeps happening. The brew for 1 works and then after brewing 2 several times, the 1 brew will not work any longer. It fills about half way and then shuts off. I have to continue to push the button until the water empties and that takes constant babysitting.

Very Convenient!
This is a great product and so convenient. My husband and I liked different coffees, so it was easy to make two different ones and since we don't drink alot of coffee, we had just enough.
Now that he has passed away, it is easy to use for just myself. I set it up at night, turn it on in the morning and it is ready to grab as I go out the door for work! One travel mug with great coffee and nothing left over. I love it. One suggestion would be to have a better lid that doesn't leak if it tips over. Otherwise, I love it!

Excellent & Simple Brewer
Love this brewer. It replaces a Gevalia coffee maker I had for over 10 years that finally gave up. I love this coffee maker because it can make one or two cups of coffee to go, keeps it nice and hot, and still makes the coffee as strong as I like it. The single cup pre-measured coffee brewers can't do this. Thank you, once again, Gevalia!

Our machine has missing filters.
we recieved this two cup coffee maker for Christmas but it is missing filters. We have looked in all of the stores around here but no luck. has evy one else had this problem.

great for one person
I live alone and this coffeemaker is perfect for me. I used to use the 12cup coffee maker but it seemed like a waste when I was only ever brewing for me. Now I can easily make one cup at a time and the travel thermals are great for on the go or if you forget that you brewed coffee the coffee is still hot an hour later. I only wish it had an autostart option like my 12cup one does.

Cute little maker that is handy!
My husband surprised me with this coffee maker. It is perfect for our busy household, make the coffee and go. What I really found nice is that we can have our own choice of coffee, two flavors during one brewing. I wish that it had a timer, but it is real easy to push the button. The other thing I wish the mug lids would close, no option to keep coffee warm, or from being spilled.

Love it!
I have had this for several years, used it countless time, and still love it. It has never failed me in my hours of need! I can't even count the number of cups of coffee this has made for me, I even use it to brew the perfect amount of hot water for hot cocoa and tea.

Coffee for two coffee maker
This is a great coffee maker, unfortunately, if/when it breaks, parts are impossible to find, (as is with most all coffee makers from Gevalia) and customer service is practically nonexistant. Replacement cost for this particular coffee maker is astronomical! You can get a way better product than this at your local Walmart for less than half the cost.
In summary, a great product as long as it works, but don't expect to find parts or service should it quit.

Nice coffeemaker
It's a great coffeemaker. I am disappointed that Gevalia no longer sells the replacement mugs, especially when they still sell the coffee maker. Any chance those mugs will be available again? Or - which of your mugs do you recommend as a replacement?

Great idea

hot coffee!
I have had two of these, and love it. I moved and left my daughters with my old coffee maker, and bought what I thought would be the same coffee maker since they looked alike. Not. The coffee in the new coffee maker isn't nearly as hot. I love the Gevalia one.

poor design

Great Idea
Have had mine for about four years. It is wonderful when I want to have a flavored coffee or a decafe and husband does not. The versatility of Basic Coffee for Two is a real luxury.
I have found it hard to put the cover on the travel mug after it is brewed. It fills the mug up to the brim and when trying to get the lid on I end up with hot coffee on my hands. I am very careful to measure the water and not put too much in so I don't think that is the reason. I have to remove some of the coffee before putting on the lid. If it were not for this problem I would have given it five star rating.

Excellent for daily use or company
