Rated 5 out of 5 by MacD Well balanced - pleasant aftertaste
Antigua is a well balanced, full flavored coffee, with a pleasant aftertaste. I enjoy it in the AM with 1/2 & 1/2 to bring out the true coffee taste.

We love the smooth taste. It's a delightful coffee that's enjoyed not only by our family, our friends love it too. It's the coffee of choice at our house...

This "medium" coffee was surprisingly mellow. I expected it to have a "twang" of bitterness, which it did not. It was so easy to drink and leaves no aftertaste. I am enjoying it immensely. In fact, I have already re-ordered it.

I've tried all selections more than twice and concluded that Antigua is the best medium roast coffee at Gevalia.. Somewhat strong but not bitter, medium acidity, smooth and have a sweet after taste. My second best from Gevalia collection is Caffe Greco which has the same quality as Antigua with a stronger taste and less acidity. Every shipment I order must have majority of these two selections.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Breeze This coffee was disappointing. It did not have enough flavor for me.
This coffee simply did not have enough flavor for my taste. I tried making it a little stronger; however, that did not seem to make any real difference.

I alternate between Antigua and Peaberry. Both are superb Costa Rican coffees. I've read that both beans can be on the same plant; this may be why they are so similar, yet different. The Antigua seems to have a slightly fuller taste.
I've also read that similar, though different, coffees from Panama share many of their attributes. I usually have my first cup of this coffee and then alternate between the Costa Rican coffees.
Is this a fixed choice? Absolutely not. Its likely more of a habit.
If you haven't tried these, you're missing a great opportunity.

The Antigua coffee is a very satisfying and rich coffee - without being too strong. I have sampled blends from several countries and this is one of my favorites. I enjoy the medium intensity of this coffee.

This is a very good coffee. It is smooth and doesn't have an acid like taste at all. It used to be much better but is still a good cup. I'll buy it again.

My friend loves this coffee. Of course there are others that are really favorites like the Peruvian and the Royal Vinter.

My husband and I do not like heavily acidic coffees, and the lower acidity in Antigua, mixed with the rich, full flavor makes this perfect for us. We continue to try other coffees, but always have this one on hand for the perfect cup.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Moonwater Smooth and strong
This is my favorite basic coffee; to me it is smooth, strong yet not bitter. It doesn't leave an aftertaste. I'm so happy to be able to purchase Gevalia coffees without having to join a club as I did years ago. Nothing in the grocery stores can compete with Antigua!
