Rated 5 out of 5 by Be certain you need the CM-500 B/W carafe and not the XCC-12 The carafe of the CM-500 B/W has a bump in the lid to operate the pause and serve valve at the bottom of the filter funnel. The XCC-12 carafe lid has no bump. These carafes cannot be interchanged unless you kept your original handle and lid. If you have the handle and lid you can use the carafes on either model. Be careful when you remove and replace the handle as the strap must not be too tight or too loose. November 16, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Don't throw your old carafe away! My old 12-cup carafe developed a crack and I was delighted to find Gevalia offers a replacement. I didn't notice that it was for the STAINLESS STEEL brewer, which mine is not. That meant the top of the replacement carafe would not open the grounds basket, which meant all the coffee stayed in the grounds basket. HOWEVER ... I had not thrown the old carafe away yet, so I just took the top off it and put it on the new carafe. Problem solved and we are back in business! August 31, 2013

Rated 4 out of 5 by Great usage I got my Stainless Steel Gevalia coffee maker over 5 years ago, it has worked perfectly. The only thing that I didn't like, was when I cleaned the front of the coffee maker( where the options are for menu,program, etc), and the lettering rubbed off!! So now I can't see what's what. I only used a damp dish cloth with a little drop of dish detergent. Can Gevalia send me a label with the lettering that I can attach? That's a good idea!! April 9, 2013

I haven't been able to find a replacement, yet. It's been a long week, whew!! This product has been a special part of my mornings for at least 7 plus years. I am determined to get a replacement carafe. This product survived a kitchen fire 5 years ago and continued to work without any problems!!! I truly beleive in taking care of what takes care of me. I will get a replacement carafe. This product has become a part of my life that I can depend on no matter what. Thanks, Gevalia. Please help me continue my enjoyment of a great cup of java each day. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great durability, great features, high quality. I have had this machine for 5 years with no problems. I love the coffee, I love the machine and have not one complaint. I even have my picky in-laws sending me the coffee flavors they do not enjoy (the acidity is a problem for them, is all, in the darker roasts) and so I luck out and have all of the coffee I could ever need. I don't anticipate ever having to buy another machine. Any other reviewers who have had problems should have called customer service, because they would have been taken care of immediately. Rated 4 out of 5 by Love the product, but has major flaw in my opinion. I have had the coffee maker for a month now and have one complaint. Why is the window for seeing and setting brew time NOT BACKLIT?! This is a major pain because I [you] have to get crouched down in front of it in order to see the numbers and set the start time for brewing. I am wondering if MY unit has a 'glitch/defect' ie every other one has a backlight? I have owned and given as gifts MANY programmable coffee makers and this is the first company I have ever seen that didn't include this feature. August 30, 2012

Answer: 
The glass part will work, but only if you transfer the handle and lid from your broken carafe. The supplied handle and lid work only with the CM500 due to changes in the pause and serve mechanism on the 12C. Be careful when tightening the screw, it must hole the handle securely but too much will break the strap or the glass.

No - the replacement carafe needed is RFA for black or RFD for white.

Does this carafe replace the carafe for the C60A Deluxe White Plastic Model? I was reading some of the question/answers and one person says "No" and it looks like a Gevalia representative says "Yes". I don't want to order one just to send it back because it didn't fit.

Tanambogo, I hope you will post the answer here, and save the trouble for the rest of us having to sit on hold and go through 'press one' purgatory. Thanks. It's a great coffee pot and I got it years ago. If I could figure out the manufacturer, I'd just go order the replacement. It's puzzling that, in an online Q&A, Gevalia would refuse to answer and insist on a phone call.

I found that the Mr. Coffee 12-cup replacement carafe works perfectly fine with Gevalia coffee makers. I bought one at Meijer but they sell them at many different stores for around $10.00 -$12.00. They come in black and white to match most coffee makers.

Followup to my answer of a week ago. I bought the replacement carafe above and used my old top from my CM650. It fits perfectly but better than that, it works when brewing coffee!!! If you want to try this, you MUST have the old top and the 2 little round pegs that snap into the carafe handle must be in good condition.

I have the same issue with the CM650. But i think the answer MAY be that if you have a CM650 black top in good condition, then it MAY fit on this carafe. The issue is really whether the front edge of the top, near the pour spout, moves the little spring lever so that coffee can flow down. Because of the relatively high cost of S&H, I have resisted buying this carafe until I can figure out the answer.
