Twinings® Earl Grey

A special gift to the 2nd Earl Grey, this aromatic tea was so popular at parties that Twinings® received special permission to sell it; now, your TASSIMO® machine brews a cup to perfection. Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by This is Pretty Good I've had Twinings Brand Tea Bags and I didn't like them. The Tassimo is a different story altogether though. Reluctantly I tried this due to my first experience with Twinings AND because it was the only brand tea available for these machines. As you can see, above I rated 'Taste' and 'Aroma' as "Good." Same with 'Soothing' HOWEVER: "Soothing" seemed like a trick phrase of sorts to me. I don't think that one even belongs in here for consideration because this is a 'caffeinated" beverage. Earl Grey, a British tradition. One cup won't get you wired, still "soothing" is relative. I think that if you want 'soothing" you would want to go with an Herbal Tea as Herbal "teas" are not 'tea' per se. For instance there's no such thing literally as a Blueberry Tea Tree from which workers literally till the crops of literal blueberry tea leaves: no such thing: but anyway any tea that comes from a tree as far as I know, whether it's Oolong, Black, Green, or White: from India, China or elsewhere (red comes from more of a plant than a tree I believe) anyway, the one's I've mentioned have naturally occurring caffeine as an ingredient. I don't know, have you ever or has it ever, is it ever your experience to call your morning cup of coffee, for instance to be 'Soothing" or do you consume caffeine to wake up??? I don't, but either way... Black teas, like this one, contain caffeine and don't contain antioxidants but have catechins I think which are especially good for your stomach. Green & white teas ARE rich in antioxidants, white even more so than green AND green, as you may or may not have already known, has lots of them (antioxidants,) BUT I've digressed. The point is thought that I like this tea a lot and unlike at least one review I read, which stated that they ended up with tea leaves spilling out into their cup, my experience has consistently been that there was not even a trace of tea leaves in even one single cup. I like it; easier to make than having to mess with a tea bag, faster, nothing bad to say about it EXCEPT it would be nice if Herbal Teas became available for or in T-Discs. April 6, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by This Green Tea is Great I really like this tea. Only wish it came in other flavors, like Jasmine Green. My only complaint is that the tea often leaks out of the T-disc. I think the leaves should be bigger so they don't come out of the disc. Will still continue to purchase since this is the only green tea available for the Tassimo. January 2, 2012
