"I love this waffle iron. It makes beautiful and delicious waffles. So easy. Clean up is great. Amazing price. Looks great on my kitchen counter. I feel like a gourmet!"
I'd really love to buy it but the last wafflemaker I owned that did not have removable trays for easy clean up was so difficult to clean that I almost never used it. When I eventually gave it to charity I doubt it had been used 5 or 6 times.
I really like the look of the machine and I love homemade waffles so will someone please tell me what about it makes it easy to clean when the trays are attached to the electronics of the machine. I hope that someone can help me with this problem because I'd certainly buy it in a heartbeat it I can get a decent answer about how to EASILY CLEAN THE MACHINE.
Thank you for your time. I have been a customer of Gevalia for 20 years and I love your coffee and the ease of changing my direct orders and being able to do almost all my business online. Keep up the good work.
1.When you initially oil the trays use a small pastry brush to get in between the forms. Do this for the top and bottom or else it might stick. If it does, I use a non stick surface fork so as not to damage the non-stick surface .
2. Try to be accurate with the amount of batter you put in the middle. The directions say to use 3/4 cup only so you don't go over the outside of the trays.
3. Close it slowly so it spreads evenly.
4. When the waffle is done, open slowly and pull it out and brush out any residual crumbs.
5. When done, let it cool and take a paper towel and go in between the forms. If you run in under the faucet it will damage the maker. The surface will have a little residual oil on it from the original "seasoning" of the trays. The manufacturer recommends only oiling it once lightly.
I hope this helps. It's a very basic unit and there's a little more work involved but, I've gotten good results.
Always remove the plug from the wall outlet and allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning.
Never dip the appliance into water or hold it under running water.
Wipe down the casing with a moist cloth only.
Clean the baking surfaces after they have cooled down with a moist cloth or with a very soft brush.
Never use sharp or pointed objects or any abrasive-cleaning agents for cleaning purposes.
